EHS Parents please join us on March 27th at 5:30 PM in the Performing Arts Building.

This meeting aims to inform parents and families about the transition of their middle school and high school students from a Special Education resource classroom setting into an all inclusive General Education classroom setting and what that may look like.

The meeting will provide an opportunity to address concerns, clarify expectations and foster collaboration between parents, educators and students to assist in a successful transition into a General Education inclusion setting where a Special Education teacher and and a General Education teacher are providing the needed teaching support.

Additionally, the meeting is also meant to address the questions about supporting those Special Education students who are in General Education classrooms where there is not a Special Education teacher present.

Finally, the new General Education inclusion process will require that we keep our students in their General Education classes to ensure that they have the opportunity to learn alongside their peers. This type of inclusion fosters improvements in social skills, empathy and the sense of belonging to the larger community.

The General Education classes provide diverse learning experiences, challenging students to reach their full potential while building resilience and independence by staying in mainstream education.

Which is where your students develop essential life skills, adaptability and confidence while they are being prepared for future success in a diverse world.
