The shelter-in-place at EHS has been lifted. Law enforcement has confirmed that the situation in the area is resolved, and regular campus activities have resumed.

EHS is currently in a shelter-in-place due to nearby police activity. Law enforcement has assured us there is no immediate danger to our campus. We will update you as soon as the shelter-in-place is lifted. Thank you for your understanding.

This afternoon, Elko High School was briefly placed on lockdown after the Centegix badge alarm system was accidentally activated. The situation was quickly investigated, and no threat was found.

Tonight’s the night for Hope Squad's FREE Movie Night, and you won’t want to miss it! We’re showing the Halloween classic *Hocus Pocus* at 7:00 PM in the old gym. Bring your friends and blankets or anything to set up on the gym floor to watch comfortably. We’ll also be selling pizza, drinks, candy, and popcorn to keep you spellbound all night long! It’s sure to be a wicked good time, so don’t miss out! We’ll see you tonight at 7:00 in the old gym for *Hocus Pocus!*

Tomorrow, Oct. 15th, there will be picture retakes during 1st and 2nd hour in the old gym.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR THE HOMECOMING DANCE: All students MUST have their student ID to get into the homecoming dance along with their dance ticket. If students do not have a student ID, they must go to the office and get an Infinite Campus Paper ID signed by an Administrator by Thursday. Any guests who are not from EHS must bring a form of ID to the dance (school ID, drivers license, permit, etc.) Students without ID will not be allowed into the dance. The homecoming dance will be at the Elko Conference Center and doors will open at 8 PM. Thank you!

Thursday we will have our amazing traditional homecoming assembly and parade. This will be the bell schedule for that day. We can't wait to see all your school spirit!!

HOSA is excited to host Colors 4 Cancer this month! Each week, we will focus on a different type of cancer, providing educational information to raise awareness. Every Wednesday, we encourage everyone to wear the designated color that represents that week's featured cancer. In addition to raising awareness, we will also be organizing fundraisers to support those affected by various forms of cancer. We invite everyone to join us in this important initiative, promoting education and solidarity in our community. Together, we can make a meaningful impact!

Parents: Your child will be bringing home the 2024-25 Federal Impact Aid Form on or about September 30. These forms are pre-bubbled. All you need to do is update your work status. Please complete all the fields that pertain to you, date and sign, and have your child return it to their school as soon as possible. By returning this form, you are helping our school district receive the appropriate amount of funding for our schools from the federal government.

We have made adjustments to several bus routes following the first few weeks of school. Most changes for Spring Creek are minor, while the Elko routes have undergone more significant updates. If your student rides the Dragonfly bus to Adobe, please be aware that this route has the most notable changes. There will be Freshman Football Concessions today 09/12 at 5:00 PM. Proceeds will go to support Hope Squad. There will be Blind Onion Pizza, Candy, Water, and other goodies. Bring some money and support a great cause.

Hope Squad is an evidence-based, peer-to-peer suicide prevention program that is fairly new to EHS and ECSD! This year, EHS Hope Squad hopes to be more active and visible on campus with activities and events for students to participate in. Our goal is to bring positivity, support, and awareness to our campus. We are asking for donations to help us host these events and find small ways to bring hope to our campus.
